For Thanksgiving I went to the archipelago chain called "Las Perlas". I was and still am so very grateful for the beautiful trip my parents gave me.
I went with the Hayes family. We had their yacht, my 22 foot boat and a dingy to cruise around in. When we first got there I was amazed to see the crystal clear water; I could see 30 feet down to the rocky reefs. We slept in a bay on an island called Contadora. The next morning and all the other mornings for the following 3 days we fished, free dived, and had a great time.
What I loved best of all was spearfishing...the thrill of diving down 20 feet and creeping into a rock crevasse with out knowing the fish that could be there was so much fun. I shot a few groupers, and one snapper.
When the trip was over we started heading back to the yacht club...well the rest of them did:
My dad and I headed to Taboga where we swam around for a while and later went to get our gear off Cheers.
I know that my Thanksgiving dinner wasn't "KABOOM"...but it was more about the way I celebrated the holiday that made me thankful. I was thankful for the healthy fish and clean ocean that made my vacation perfect.
